DAY 1: Aix and the Sainte-Victoire mountain

• Let a master guide walk you through the rich past of downtown Aix-en-Provence.

• Take a breather at the market, chatting with local producers and sampling regional specialties. 

• Your chauffeur-guide will lead you up the Sainte-Victoire mountain, the slopes and breadth of which inspired many painters of the Impressionist school, like Paul Cézanne.

DAY 2: Silvacane Abbey and Lourmarin - Luberon

• Take a step a thousand years in the past as you visit one of the three “Cistercian sisters”, an abbey located at the Roque d’Anthéron: Silvacane Abbey.

• Weave through the narrow streets of Ansouis and visit its castle 

• Meet the owner of Ansouis chateau and enjoy a guided tour of his proprety. 

• Visit the village of Lourmarin: will you visit the fortified medieval castle? Or peek into an art gallery to meet the painter, brush in hand? Free time – as you wish!

DAY 3: “La Côte Bleue” - The Coast near Marseille

• Meet Richard, the captain of a little boat who will take you for a ride on the sea to admire the coast off the beaten track. 

• Swimming allowed from the boat. 

• Discover a quaint village of “La Côte Bleue” near Marseille, home to American singer Nina Simone in her later years; a few steps along the seaside and you’ll join in on local leisure activities.

• Listen to what the grapevine whispers in regional vineyards: visit production facilities and dip your lips in their best samples in a charming setting 

• Fresh seasonal produce and local cooking for lunch in a picturesque inlet.


DAY 4: Marseille – A city transcending its past

• An eclectic combination of historical sights, landmark monuments and local crafts.

• Meet Jonas, a deep-sea diver and coral collector, at the historical fishport. He’ll introduce you to fishmongers of the Mediterranean! 

• Visit “Notre Dame de la Garde” basilica. From there, 360° panorama of Marseille. 

• The Marseille chocolate delicacies won’t have any secrets for you after an insider’s peek inside a chocolate maker’s workshop.

• Let our knowledgeable guide walk you through the winding streets of historic Marseille, culminating with the stunning modern architecture along the seawall. 

• Meet engaging craftsmen, enter their workshops and learn to handle some of their tools. Possibilities abound: Gaëlle will show you how to make coral jewelry, while others share tips on how to make clay nativity figures, knives, traditional soaps…

• Extend the day with an evening boating escapade, admiring the sunset on the Frioul archipelago and savoring a light dinner on one of its beaches 

• Run with hordes of extinct aurochs in the Cosquer Cave mock-up, an exquisite reproduction of the 27,000 year-old cave complete with parietal art. Opens in 2022 in the Villa Méditerrannée, itself an architectural masterpiece.


DAY 5: Camargue – where Sea and Land comingle

• As the day rolls on, contemplation of this two-fold Camargue region will never grow old, with fauna and flora playing with all the senses in both the terrestrial and maritime portions of the land. 

• Meet up with local farmers in their heirloom stone “mas” villages and visit their family farm. – Let nature set the pace as you go horse-back riding to better take in the unique wilderness of the area. 

• Also possible: ride at the back of a pick-up truck!

• Discover Saintes-Maries-de-la-Mer, a charming village with a loaded past, capital of Camargue, delicately set at the edge of the Mediterranean Sea. 

• Let a master guide walk you through its fortified church and its vicinity. 

• Free time in the village. Swimming possible at the nearby beach..

DAY 6: Arles and Pont du Gard

• Stroll through Arles, the capital of ancient Rome located on the banks of the Rhone river. 

• Marvel at its arenas where gladiator fights took place in the 1st century. 

• Marvel at the Pont du Gard, part of the Unesco world heritage. This three-level bridge was built in 50 AD and it was designed to facilitate the passage of a Roman aqueduct.
