Our recommended 7-day itinerary in and around Paris

DAY 1: Local producers at the market and Macarons cooking class

• Meet local producers at a farmer’s market (vegetables, cheesemakers, florists…).

• If you are interested, we extend the morning with a cooking class (and lunch!) with a Chef using fresh products selected earlier at the market or a picnic in a beautiful setting.

• Meet a pastry chef who will teach you to bake the perfect macarons in her pastry shop. A one-of-a-kind lesson in the delicate art of French patisserie. You’ll be astounded by the taste of your work!

• Admire Parisian architecture during a private city tour in a comfortable, air-conditioned touring vehicle. We can make stops at the Louvre, Place de la Concorde, the Champs-Élysées boulevard, the Arc de Triomphe, the Eiffel Tower, Invalides, Trocadéro, and Notre Dame Cathedral (outside only).

• Master the secrets of the iconic baguette or buttery croissants with a baker passionate about his art, in his intimate workshop.

DAY 2: Artisan jewelry designer and the world of French luxury

• Meet Eleonore, an artisan jewelry designer in her workshop who works with the most famous luxury houses of the Place Vendôme. For her, pieces of jewelry are true “guardians of feelings” that become vectors through time.

• Admire the architecture of the great French luxury houses in and around the famous Place Vendôme: LOUIS-VUITTON, DIOR, CHANEL…

• Visit the Louis-Vuitton Foundation museum and its incredible structure designed by Frank Gehry. The Foundation promotes contemporary and historical art and hosts collections of various artists and icons of modern art, such as the Morozov collection.

DAY 3: Cheesemaker and wine tasting in a cellar under the Louvre

• Go behind the scenes of a cheese factory and and learn the secrets of the French.

• Practice the art of wine-tasting with a sommelier in the Caves du Louvre, as you sample excellent wines

• Go back in time to the 19th century and revel in the friendly atmosphere of a small traditional cabaret.

• Discover the works of a Montmartre painter.

DAY 4: Stained-glass artist and Chartres cathedral

• Meet Christine, a Master glassworker and stained-glass artist in her workshop and discover the timeless craftsmanship that goes into making stained glass windows.

• Amble through historic Chartres downtown, with its amazing cathedral and crypt – the largest in France – that date back to the 12th century.

• Visit the majestic Palace of Versailles, and its incredible gardens designed by André Le Nôtre, Royal Gardener for Louis XIV.

• Experience the amazing night show at the Palace of Versailles (summer only)

• Visit the Saint-Pierre de Chartres church, a monument dating back to the 16th century.

DAY 5: Catacombs and Chantilly whipped cream class

• Visit of a 13th century private property, the former Cluny Priory with intriguing catacombs dug by hand by Benedictine monks in medieval times

• Savor a glass of champagne in a 12th century Cluny cloister with a breathtaking view of a medieval roman-gothic style abbey.

• Meet Hervé, a Pastry Chef, for a Chantilly cream cooking class at the chateau of Chantilly that belonged to the Duke of Aumale, son of the last king of France and former owner of the chateau.

• Private guided tour of Senlis, a medieval city. Visit the 12th century gothic cathedral, built at the same time as Notre Dame in Paris.

• Visit of Chantilly including the “Grande Ecuries” master stables and the Chantilly live horse museum and the Chantilly lace museum.

• Guided visit of the royal abbey Chaalis dating from the 12th century. Possibility of participating in a perfume workshop.

DAY 6: Baker and winemaker in one of the most beautiful villages in France

• Meet Hervé, an experienced baker, and savor his incredible loaves of organic bread baked with natural yeast in wood-fired ovens…and then make your own!

• Meet Jean-Paul, a vintner who shares his passion for vineyards located in the medieval town of Gerberoy, named one of the “Most Beautiful villages of France.” Wine tasting to follow.

• Visit the 13th century Beauvais Cathedral (the tallest gothic-style cathedral in the world) with its incredible chancel and astronomical clock (90,000 individual pegs and cogs turn in time with animated figures!).

• Meet the owners of a 17th century manor with a guided tour of their private gardens.

DAY 7: World’s oldest auction house and an art gallery owner

• Attend a sale at DROUOT, the world’s oldest auction house, and wander through the halls where more than 3,000 sales take place each year.

• Meet an art gallery owner who used to work at Sotheby’s and Christie’s and is now an independent art dealer. Visit his intimate gallery where his former clients and current clients – who he advises in their collections – can come to discuss paintings, drawings and sculpture.

• Enjoy a champagne tasting in a luxury Parisian hotel (the Crillon, George V, the Ritz, or Meurice depending on availability for your tour dates)

• Take in a lively show at the famous Moulin Rouge.

• Meet an artist, engraver and silkscreen printer. Take a behind-the-scenes tour of his printmaking studio in front of the Louvre Museum.
