Our itineraries are just an example of the amazing journeys we can provide.Â
Our travel designers are available to plan your tailor-made trips to France for you.
• Meet & greet at the Marseille airport or Aix-en-Provence TGV station
• Transfer to your boutique hotel in the center of Aix
• Welcome dinner with local specialties
MORNING : Aix-en-Provence
• Get a feel for the relaxed (and sunny) atmosphere of Aix-en-Provence (the historical capital of Provence) as we tour its narrow streets and fountains, hundred-year-old Sycamore trees lining the city center, townhouses painted in ochres and earth tones – and understand why artists like Paul CĂ©zanne found their inspiration here! Taste sweets from Aix called calissons as we walk through town.Â
• Stroll through the weekly farmer’s market with your guide and taste local specialties along the way. Your guide will introduce you to local producers and tell you stories about life in Provence. We will also select fresh, in-season produce for our cooking class (and the wines to go with the meal).Â
AFTERNOON : Cooking class
• Enjoy a hands-on cooking class where you will prepare a traditional meal Ă la provençale with a local Chef using the produce selected at the market. We will then lunch with the Chef in the French tradition – several courses, wine pairings, a relaxed cadence, and good conversation.Â
• For dinner, we will enjoy a light meal or tapas in Aix.
• Night in your boutique hotel in Aix-en-Provence
Morning: Truffles
• In the heart of the Luberon region, discover Provence’s famous “black diamonds” – truffles! Meet Olivier, a local truffier and his sidekick Sophie, a Lagotto Romagnolo (a breed that has developed a natural capacity for detecting the odor of the truffles). We will go with them out on the hunt, and then enjoy tasting Olivier’s many truffle-based products and dishes.
• With a gorgeous view of the Chateâu de Lourmarin, we will have lunch in a local restaurant serving traditional mediterranean-style cuisine and exquisite cocktails.
Afternoon: Olive oil
• Are all olive oils the same? Certainly not! With LĂ©o and his team, we will learn everything there is to know about producing olive oil – from growing the olive trees to the work at the mill. Enjoy an exclusive tasting of highly aromatic oils (thanks to the soil and climate of the Luberon region) and learn how to choose olive oils for different types of cuisine.
• Dinner in a traditional restaurant (or cuisine of your choosing) in Aix
• Night in your boutique hotel in Aix-en-Provence
Morning: Vacqueyras & Avignon
• Create your own organic wine composition with Odile, winemaker in the Vacqueyras region. With 7 CĂ´te du Rhone varietals on the property, the possibilities of creating a unique bottle are endless! Odile will take you through the process of creating your special blend – sampling her different varietals, choosing what will make your wine unique, and finally learning to compose your blend.Â
• We will have lunch in Avignon, in Les Halles – the covered market – tasting fresh, local produce in a bustling and friendly atmosphere.
Afternoon : Châteauneuf-du-Pape
• Head back into wine country to the town of one of the most well-known RhĂ´ne Valley wines – Châteauneuf-du-Pape. In addition to a private visit of the winery and its cellars, the winemaker will present the wine in more detail, highlighting the specificities of the vineyards. We will then have an exclusive wine tasting (including grands crus) paired with a tasting of distinctive local French cheeses.Â
Morning : Fish market & Calanques
• Our first stop is in the Old Port area of Marseille where we will visit the famous Marché aux Poissons (fish market). Discover this Marseille institution with your local guide, selecting a fresh catch of the day (often red mullet, bream, grouper…) for lunch.
• Treat yourself to an incredible panoramic of the Calanques…by boat! As we coast along the turquoise, crystal-clear waters of the Mediterranean, your guide will share the secrets of these steep-walled cliffs, their sheltered inlets, and unique ecosystem.
• For lunch, we will stop at one of the Iles du Frioul to cook and enjoy our fish from the market with flavorful, local side dishes.
Afternoon : Chocolate in Marseille
• Back in Marseille, enjoy an insider’s peek into the production (and tasting!) of locally famous chocolates made with olive oil from the region at the Les EspĂ©rantines chocolaterie. Located along the Old Port, we will also have the chance to see the stunning architecture of the CathĂ©drale de la Major.
• Dinner in a traditional restaurant (or cuisine of your choosing) in Aix
